It's mid-July already, that means it's time to start thinking about the upcoming holiday season. Yes, it seems far away, but it always does till it isn't, right?
To help those putting together their 2016 holiday marketing plans, Facebook's released the results of a new research project which examined Facebook and Instagram usage data from the 2015 holiday season (November through to January) as well as insights from a new Ipsos survey of more than 21,500 people aged 18+ across 17 nations, related to holiday habits and attitudes.
Among their key findings:
- Online purchases made on mobile increased 33% compared to Holiday season 2014
- Users shared 49% more video posts in the 2015 holidays season, with 80% of posts, photos and videos coming via mobile device
- Millennials are 3.19x more likely yo use Instagram for gift inspiration
