We're now less than six weeks away from Christmas - 45 days to be exact. The decorations are materializing in shopping centres and supermarkets, thrones are being erected in anticipation of Santa's pending arrival (and photo sessions). For businesses, the festive season has well and truly arrived - while for the rest of us, it's time to start solidifying purchase plans.
From a marketing standpoint, Facebook is no doubt going to play a big role in helping many brands reach their audiences and maximize response this festive season. To assist on this front, The Social Network has today released a new infographic which compiles a range of research insights based on Facebook usage at Christmas time across 34 countries. And those insights are pretty eye-opening - for example:
- 59% of holiday shoppers plan to shop differently this year, with 40% planning to do more of their shopping online
- 73% of posts, photos and videos were created on mobile last December
- 2.7x more posts, photos and videos were shared on mobile over desktop last December
It's a good infographic, covering a wide range of data points coming direct from Facebooks internal and/or commissioned research.
And it's quite possible that these notes could make you re-think your strategy and how you connect with your audience in the period.
