The 500+ Club on Linked-In

Perhaps many of you, like me, have a number of LinkedIn contacts who are members of the "500+ Club," with so many contacts that they are "hubs" around which the rest of us, with our paltry numbers, simply rotate like the distant planet that just took Pluto's place, unknown and largely unwanted. (Yes, I am envious.)

The major LinkedIn players in my universe are accomplished at more than just LinkedIn, but still, I wonder what value do they derive from the service -- and more important -- is it hard work to be a hub?

So I'm planning to send around a basic questionnaire to my own 500+ Club, but if you would like to ask more questions of this group, just pile on comments.  Also please send anyone in your network who belongs to this club my way.  I'll post any responses I get here.

Oh, and I'm "Robin Fray Carey" on LinkedIn.

The 500+ Club: Robin’s LinkedIn Questionnaire

When did you join?

Who did you first ask to link in?

How many people, approximately, on your list did you ask to link in vs. were asked by them to link to you?

Are you still accepting requests? From whom? Do you still ask others to link to you?

What has been your driving motivation to continue building your network?

Is it good for you? Why?

Have you ever de-listed anyone?

Can you remember everyone on your list?

Any thought of throwing it all away and leaving for Facebook?
