Excellent job rounding up this list, Pam.Thanks so much for including CARMA! We also run a robust blog that explores media measurement and a know a number of posts in there focus on social media measurement strategy http://www.carma.com/blog/

hilarious - as if someone could juggle 5 of these, you show 50 "top" tools and so far the commenters want you to basically double the last.  ROTFL

I am currently using Hootsuite as my main tool to monitor all my social media activities and it is very reliable. I hope they will make more updates for the software as I found it very useful in my needs. Meanwhile, just sharing you what I've stumbled upon on Google, here's a list of over 20 social media monitoring software with a comparison of all the features.

https://www.staff.com/blog/list-of-social-media-management-and-monitoring-software/

Thanks for the comprehensive list. Would love to see Social Business Analytics included in your next review. If your readers are like me, they appreciate taking a look at the newest apps out there.

How come no one ever mentions Sendible?  This is by far the best tool I have found for the 76 social networks I oversee.  I tried everything else, HootSuite, TweetDeck, Seesmic, SocialOomph, etc.  CoTweet wanted $18,000.00 a year for 15 accounts (but you can get an unlimited enterprise account for $100,000.00 a year.)  I pay $40.00 a month for up to 100 accounts with Sendible.  No brainer, right?  Plus, it has tools NO ONE else offers and it's reports/metrics are very intense too!  I used Ping for a while, but was just so frustrated with it.  I gave up when I couldn't reach anyone for customer support.  And for the record, I would grade Sendible's customer support on the same level as Zappos.

I work for the largest broadcasting company in the world, it's good enough for us, is it good enough for you?  Check it out for yourself, http://www.sendible.com

I know this sounds like a commercial, but I honestly can say I don't know what I'd do without it.  I only wished someone had told me about it sooner.  It truly is a Social secret weapon!

P.s. Sendible offers a free trial.  But if you want to sit through a boring demo with a sales person, CoTweet is more than happy to take an hour out of your day.

Thanks so much for including MediaMiser, Pam!

Like many of our competitors, we offer free trials. We'd welcome you and your readers to take MediaMiser for a spin during their vendor evaluation process.

If you'd like to see a video demo of our newest product, MediaMiser SNAP, click here:

Hope your readers find this helpful!

Thanks for the great writeup, Pam!

You've done fantastic job, as I've seen quite many products I hadn't known about.

As for my contribution, there is also a great SMM & social reputation tool called BuzzBundle.

As far as I know, the tool is the only one that supports YouTube management along with other major social networks. Another awesome feature of BuzzBundle is that it allows tracking brand mentions online, which applies to own and competitors' brands.

Another great platform tool that you should add to the list is PromoJam - the self service social marketing platform for running and tracking social, direct and mobile marketing campaigns with ease on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. They have extremely affordable prices, are used by big and small brands / businesses across the country. Can you include them in the list? Check it out - http://www.promojam.com/

Wow! This is a great list! What's interesting is when you search for "viral" nothing comes up on the page...And not one of these services could even tell you about viral content. They only watch "what" people are saying, sentiment, etc. and "who" is talking about your brand.

You should give http://www.ViralityScore.com a look. It will let you measure how viral content is.

Great list Pam!

As an update, SWIX Analytics (#39) has been merged into a new platform called Source Metrics. You can find it here --- (http://sourcemetrics.com/)

Pam,

Thanks for this great list. We would be very happy if you would add our Tool Replise (http://www.replise.com) to the list. Comprehensive Monitoring with own crawler and historical data and we also have a team of data analysts that is happy to help getting intelligence from your data

Garbis, CEO Replise Germany

Interesting List

I like your post on Social Media Tools, Undoubtedly you have send great message to people who are very keen learner on Social Media. I'm also using one of the social media tools for monitoring and tracking is Easesocial. This influence me very much.

Thanks for the post, Pam!

Yet, I believe that you might have missed some cool SMT gems that are out there (BuzzBundle) which I was surprised not to find in your long list of SMTs. I've been using it for quite a while and I'd say that it'd replace a third of your list with ease.

Therefore, I've a question:

Are you planning on writing a review of the major SMT suites? I'd love to read that!

Thanks!

This a great list of tools - very useful. For your next review, please include SNA Lizzner (http://www.snalizzner.com).  If you need more information about our social analytics tool, do not hesitate to contact us.  (phk at social-3 dot com)

Hi Pam,

Succinct roundup!

I’d like to suggest webfluenz as well, quite a robust and cost effective tool.

It was featured in the Top Social Media Monitoring Tool Report by Goldbach Interactive. It’s also been getting some great reviews.

Thanks!

- Shobha Thomas, Research Analyst, Webfluenz

Hi Pam, nice List, thanks a lot! But i think you missed quintly, former allfacebookstats. It is a brilliant tool for benchmarking your social media profiles with competitors, the most professional one I often heard, so I really wonder why it's not in the list. You should definitely check it: http://www.quintly.com/

Dear Pam Dyer,

Nice  list, but how about web2monitor? ;-) Do you know it?

From infospeed (http://www.infospeed-research.com/ ), a social media monitoring agency from Cologne/Germany.

I would like to  see that tool in your final list. ;-)

Cheers & Thanks

Sebastian

I have tried Karma is very good and gives you that sense of competition, I also like HootSuite better than Sprout, for reports and analytics CrowdRatio it’s been helping me for the past month.

Thanks so much for including Meltwater, Pam!

You're welcome, Jen -- it's a great tool!

Pam- this is a great list. Thanks for putting it out to the world. I found your link today from a Seattle PR friend who sent me this post: PRDaily article http://www.prdaily.com/Main/Articles/15854.aspx

Very helpful notes, especially happy that you included notation for free and paid resources.

Cheers,

Andrea

I've been using Brandwatch (http://www.brandwatch.com) for a few years now and I'm always impressed by the felixibility of the tool and quality of the data.

Also it's not really an analytics tool but FollowerWonk (http://followerwonk.com/) is really handy as a quick way of identifying influencers and segmenting your followers.

What about understanding what is in PHOTOS? Ditto has a tool that helps marketers see how their brand appears in social across tumblr, twitter, and instagram. Try it here: http://www.startditto.com

Eager to get your feedback!

I'm the Director of Marketing at an IT company in Dallas and one of our big concerns is how users are interacting with content we post to our website and blogs. More specifically; how users share that content to social media and whether or not we actually have engagements and conversions from the content. SocialRest gives us those metrics. They need to be on this list. They're tools are awesome!!

You guys must also include Sociota in your list. We have very powerful features on Social Media Management, Marketing and Analytics. A must check out site if you are working in this space.

This list of social media tools would definitely help website owners. Thanks for sharing such informative and helpful post with us.. Waiting for your next post.. Keep sharing...

This is a really great list! I am currently researching a ton of different options for tools.  I also came across this other article which I would like to share.  It was a company that interviewed a TON of different social media managers for what they used every day and ranked them according to the votes that they received.  Pretty cool huh? article: http://www.watsonnowlin.com/top-social-tools I started using at least 3-4 tools from this list alone and I can say that it has made a real life difference in my daily activities.

Hi there!

Post was interesting but I wanted to ask you all for a little advice: I'm in a hurry to get an app to help me monitoring my client's reputation/mentions. I know and have tested mention.net and it's definately a great tool: reliable and fast as hell. Thing is I do need more than the alerts they give (instead of nº of mentions) so I'm trying to figure out if there's any other app with a similar reliabilty but with more room for individual alerts.

Btw I do use seo tools as moz, majestic, ahrefs and such but their "mention trackers" aren't as fast and reliable (in spanish, little detail ^^). And for some of the tools you talk about Pam, I'd love to use them but they're far away from my budget :\

I mean it's great but if there's any other new tool, as post is from last year, I'd love to hear from it. thank you :)

Hi Pam!

These are all pretty solid... However, one that was not mentioned here was #evalue analytics. I used it recently...the inisights it provides are actually much more detailed and substantial than most these other ones... its an amazing platform for monitoring and overall analytics. example: http://www.evalueanalytics.com/1158/social-pages/Mercedes-Benz

Jordan

Great article, but looks like it needs an update. Some have closed, some have been purchased and some have merged...And would be great to see Oktopost on the list!

This is a great list with brief information of each tool. I am using Social Pulse™ (http://socialpulse.co) automation tool. This is one of the best social media analytics tool which has real-time, analytics, automated publishing, monitoring and weather triggered ads publishing. Everything in one place!
