Are Mobile Phones the New BFF? [INFOGRAPHIC]
Posted on May 20th 2014
Is the mobile phone my new BFF?
The mobile phone has changed the way we work, live and play. It goes everywhere we go and leaving home without it can be a disaster. In fact, 66% of people in the UK suffer from nomophobia, which is a fear of being without a mobile phone. (SecurEnvoy)
The mobile phone is an incredible device – you’re holding the future. What other device can plug you into social media, take photos, show videos, play music, provide games, browse the web – and of course let you make a phone call or send and receive text messages? You have the world at your fingertips, in a phone that is no bigger than the hand that holds it.
This not only makes it a best friend for life, but a very powerful marketing tool for any business with a desire to connect with its customers.
Think about the following:
- Your customers will have a mobile phone.
- They will open and read text messages. 98% of all texts messages are opened in under 5 seconds. (Frost & Sullivan)
Mobile devices top the list of media for having the greatest impact on our purchasing decisions.
So, if the mobile phone is my new BFF, the title of marketing’s best friend is not even up for discussion.
