Barry, nicely put and very helpful. Don't you think having a viewpoint (or call it opinion) on already generated content is as important. Think about it as content curation (handpicked from around the Internet) and then putting your take on it - we do this most of the times on LinkedIn or Twitter .. paste a link and in few words describe for our audience what we think about it.
I think a good portion of content marketing will involve content curation with some form of opinion. Even if the content is no created by you, but you still can voice your thoughts, and your followers would want to know what you think and believe. We at Netcurate.com are trying to build a platform which will help an individual or a team do the above.
