We all know the commercials to capture the memories in photos. We heard the saying; a picture is worth a thousand words.
All that might be true. But now there might need to be some new ones created. Such as, this picture cost me my job. Or maybe some pictures should stay in the photo album.
Either way it's not just kids that need to learn to edit their Facebook profiles. Principal Sharron Smalls of Jane Addams High School in the Bronx New York used as her status pic one of her scantily dressed. She is dancing with a man wearing even less clothing and pouring what appears to be melted chocolate on each other.
It's hard to believe that someone who oversees a high school wouldn't be more savvy when it comes to using social media since so many schools try to teach kids about online safety. The picture was actually found by students who were angry about how Smalls was running the school.
She is under investigation for falsifying credits for seniors who hadn't taken the required higher level courses. As an example, she was giving credit for chemistry to those who had taken cosmetology. This is causing the school to come under investigation and risking the graduation of more than 100 seniors.
The students want her gone and went to her Facebook site and saw this pic. They are using this as proof that Smalls doesn't have good judgment and needs to be gone.
I guess the irony of this is that one part of social media safety is telling kids to clean up their profiles when applying for jobs or to schools. I guess Principal Smalls missed the lesson that day.
