Google killed authorship reporting in Webmaster tools and removed author photos from search results (although this one is apparently debatable). I can’t find any stats about Google+ Communities participation so can’t speculate about whether they’d keep that feature or, if they’re doing a firesale of all Google+ features, whether or not it seems likely that Communities will soon be headed to pasture too.
Only 20% of UK adults admitted to having given though to what will happen to their social profiles after they die. And there was quite a divide in how they would want their profiles to be maintained.
Seems that everyone’s churning out content these days – but that doesn’t mean that everyone knows how to write a really good blog post that grabs interest and keeps it. Here are just a few tips that might just help your blog writing stand out from the crowd.
Take the time to identify potential members that already exhibit a passion for the topic around which your community is built. Reach out to them and tell them what you’d like to accomplish with your community efforts. They may be able to help with their own personal networks, and later help to organize the community.
You know what’s a huge time-suck? Social media drudgery. You know, the tedious and repetitive tasks that are part of every social media manager’s job. You have way more to offer the world than copy/pasting content from social media sites into spreadsheets. You have creative ideas that the world needs! IFTTT helps you spend more time on that good stuff, and less time on the drudgery.
