Flashmob Christmas Choir = Amazing Guerrilla Marketing [VIDEO]
Posted on December 21st 2012
924 mince pies, 30 gospel choir singers (and a guitarist!) 4 camera men, one giant banner… all made up the fantastic Xuber surprise which took place on Dec. 18, 2012, to spread festive cheer and say a big ‘thank you’ to Xuber’s customers!
Kicking off in Leadenhall Market at 1pm, one member of the flash mob choir lead the seasonal rendition of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas is you.’ Surprised onlookers from the London insurance market watched in awe as the remaining 29 singers congregated in the middle of the market. The energy and excitement in the market was palpable – the flash mob had begun!
People stopped, children danced and others took pictures and filmed videos on their smartphones. To view pictures click here.
But the surprise didn’t end there! The final stop was the Royal Exchange steps by Bank station in the midst of rush hour. Hundreds of commuters stopped in their tracks when the choir burst into song providing some Christmas cheer before heading home.
Feedback was overwhelming and many joined the conversation on social media to add their comments:
“What a fantastic #xubersurprise -great work from @xubersocial team”
“The #xubersurprise Christmas choir is on Gracechurch St. Come on down!”
