Tim, great information--I work at a marketing agency and there are comments about hashtags and the annoyance people have with them. It's good to know what's coming so we can warn them and also help them embrace the # world!
Just as a side note: You talked about your pet peeves. One of mine is poor editing i.e. right off the bat--first sentence: "Facebook has finally announced that they be launching clickable hashtags on the social media . . ." At first I thought maybe you were just trying to be casual with the reader-- "they be launching" :) --and then I saw there were more throughout the article.
I dont' want to be hard on you but it was difficult to read at times because of grammar or a word was left out or there was a typo. Just FYI for your next article--I would love to be able to read right through it without wanting to get out a red pen. :) (It's just the curse of being a teacher as well!)
