How do you measure the value of a Social Follower? And does a User on one Social Media Channel, and their actions on that channel, have more value than that of another? Are fans acquired by a promotional campaign, such as Facebook Advertising, less valuable than those who are attracted organically?
Tapping into the latest research, Builditz.com took a closer look at the value of Social Followers, and Brand Advocates, in this New Infographic.
Infographic Highlights:
- 63% of Companies say Social Media has increased the effectiveness of their marketing efforts
- 47% of customers are somewhat more likely to purchase from a Brand that they follow or Like
- A share on Facebook is the most highly-prized action in Social Media, with a value of $14, a Facebook Like ($8), a Twitter tweet ($5) and Twitter follow ($2)
- Facebook fans are cheaper to recruit via a promotional campaign, with an average cost per Like (a Very key metric, as opposed to CPC) of $1.07
- Cost per follower on Twitter is a hefty $2.50-4.00
While these numbers are averages, it is fair to say that your brand's particular experience may vary. Builditz.com has helped in a number of Facebook promotional campaigns. Our numbers seem to reflect an average price of a Facebook cost per Like is closer to approximately $1.42, almost 50 percent more expensive than the level suggested from this data. Campaigns are a little but harder to measure. Some are cheaper than, but many are much more expensive. They are once again an average and averages are dependant on the syntax of numbers used.
