This week I moderated another Social Media Today webinar as part of their Best Thinker webinar series, this time on the topic of: Integrating Your Content Marketing Strategy with Employee Advocacy. This webinar was sponsored by EveryoneSocial and featured Pam Moore (@pammktgnut), Founder and CEO of Marketing Nutz; Laurent Friedman (@lauren_hannah), Head of Global Social Business Enablement at Adobe; and Chris Hecklinger (@cdhecklinger), Director of Client Success at EveryoneSocial. We discussed a ton of great ideas about content creation, leveraging other peoples content and how to measure your employee advocates.
Here are 3 of the key take-aways:
- People don't buy things, they join things - Communities can create great markets. That's why you should stop thinking about content and think about the community that you are trying to serve and what that community needs.
- Be visual - 85% of people are more likely to purchase a product after watching a video about the product so it pays to be visual. Our brains also process visuals 60,000 times faster than text.
- Content Curation vs Content Creation - Chris talked about the right mix of content you create versus content you curate. He recommends a 75% / 25% ratio of curated content to created content. Where to curate content? From keywords, hashtags, Blogs and videos. It's the ABC's of content - Always Be Curating!
