Interesting data published by eMarketer and Borrell Associates today showing the dramatic growth of online coupons during 2009. Borrell estimated that $8.3 Billion in online coupons were redeemed in the U.S. in 2009 and that the number will more than double to $22 Billion by 2014.
This isn't surprising. For a growing segment of consumers, online coupons are easier to discover, easier to share, and more convenient to redeem, and easier to track that their offline counterparts.
For these reasons, I believe that the growth will only accelerate and will likely exceed Borrell's estimates. In Q1, we will be making it even easier for users of CloudProfile to promote special offers and coupons directly from CloudProfile that are then syndicated widely across the web for maximum exposure.
