I love the tip to never think of social media as being 'done' because it really never can be. New posts need to go out daily and strategy needs to consistently be updated. I think that's how we plan for the unplannable at Big Like, by talking about our strategy a lot to make sure we are all on the same page. That level communication will definitely come in handy if ever something unpredictable happens.
