On the first day of South by Southwest Interactive this year, Social Media Today and IBM hosted The Social Business Shake-Up at the W in Austin. The breakfast panel, which covered what it takes to become a social business, benefited from the wisdom of Sandy Carter of IBM, Natanya Anderson of Whole Foods, Andrew Bowins of MasterCard and Michael Stenberg of Siemens, with Social Media Today's CEO, Robin Carey, acting as moderator.
We touched on the major themes of social business as we see it today: collaboration, customer-centricity, security, analytics, and innovation. The panel explored the challenges and opportunities of social business, such as engaging and empowering employees, utilizing social data and leveraging influencers.
