As Social Media Today morphs from scrappy to stable and thriving, we've added a level of senior management to guide the company onward and upward. I'm very pleased today to announce the addition of two Vice Presidents and a new General Manager.
Our new Vice President for Technology is Allan Benamer. By Web standards, Allan is one of the Web originals. He has been actively Web programming since 1996 for various Fortune 500s like McGraw-Hill, PG&E, Merrill Lynch, and Citibank. He has also worked on governmental sites like the Judicial Branch of California, and nonprofit sites such as Coalition for the Homeless and Autism Speaks. He's been a Drupal architect and Java release manager as well as an IT Director. He chose Social Media Today to challenge himself in bringing to bear everything he's ever learned about programming, information architecture, social media and white-hat SEO into one place. Follow Allan at @abenamer.
Mary Ellen joined SMT as a freelancer in June, but came on board full-time a month later. "There are a number of reasons that I decided to join SMT. For one, I was impressed by the enthusiasm and professionalism of the SMT team members, and really enjoyed working with them. Also, I wanted to join a company that I felt was poised for growth, that offered me the opportunity to push my skills as an editor and a manager, and one that embodied the ethics and standards that are important to me." According to Tara Lyn, "Social Media Today is exploding with rich talent and innovative solutions. As a leading voice in its space, SMT is positioning itself as the 'go-to' company, and creating an environment with The Social Shakeup where everyone who is anyone wants to be. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that growing community and having an impact on their organization?!"
