Great article.

As much as I think social media is generally imperative, my challenge has been finding others within my industry that are on social media. Hard to do well on social if no one else is being social, especially since we're a B2B business in the oil & gas industry. Everyone around here (On a local level) are roughneck, no-BS guys in their 50's, and aren't web saavy at all.

So, depending in your industry, you could do really well without social media (Gasp!). But, the future would belong to the companies that get social first.

Social media is indeed an implicit methodology for generating online business. In social media one need to keep knack of opportunities and put right approach on the right time. Also social media is not about "ME". Its about sharing informative data, helping others and sometimes funny.
