There are many ways to stay on top of your competitors, but one important avenue which is often overlooked is paying attention to what is happening on LinkedIn. Recently, LinkedIn overtook the dying MySpace as the second most popular social media tool behind Facebook. As such, using LinkedIn as a Comptitive Intelligence (CI) tool vs. just for social media or networking is becoming more and more common amongst savvy CI professionals. Companies using LinkedIn for competitive intelligence keep tabs on their competition in almost as many ways as there are contacts on LinkedIn!
