If you're looking for engagement we need to discuss when to start using Facebook sponsored posts. Note we're not saying you should or shouldn't; we are saying when. Facebook sponsored posts have been proven to drive engagement like crazy and we've seen click-through rates around 8-9.3% through content.
Using Facebook ads we know those click through rates would be insane, but they seem to be around the norm (if not a bit higher) for Facebook sponsored posts. Here's why.
Great content comes few and far in between. Admit that now since if I were wrong everything you posted would be a home run. Get over yourself. Once you're done figure out which posts you either:
A. Think could boost because it's already top performing
B. Need to help because it's not performing at all
We understand when B comes into the picture when starting to use Facebook Sponsored Posts, however, we've seen our best numbers when we experiment with A. We're not talking about breaking bank either - we've experimented anywhere from $10 to $100. Facebook will never tell you how many people you can reach outside of your personal network. That hints at fan acquisition, but we've yet to see any "likes" directly from this.
So when should you start using them? A. Definitely A. By then you've figured out your brand and you're ready to rock and roll with this added boost from the media. Facebook ads have a variety of tactics and you could have a lot of different reward metrics, but sponsored posts are all about engagement.
