Thanks for sharing this Chadrack and it's beeeen a hard year to make clients understand the importance of creating content to help with generating more authority in their market place. I look forward to 2014 and seeing how clients react to such information as yours.
Funny how I have added to our schedule a content director as an essestilan part of the business development process for any client.

Nice infographic Chadrack - I guess it is only appropriate that you post a "where is content heading in 2014" post that includes some good content (aka a useful infographic).
I do agree that journalism and storytelling will head into content creating but I do have to wonder what will constitute content marketing in the upcoming years? I tried to explain what it is in my "What is Content Marketing?" blog post that I recently did, but will it be so vague or will we have categories for the type of content marketing?
Journalist and storytelling for content marketing seems more of a PR reach, while helpful "how-to" posts are more of product placements or expertise showcases (since many how-to posts usually include the organizations product and or services withint he post). Lists that highlight how to get more Facebook engagement can be classified as trying to position the organization as an industry expert within it's field (digital branding).
It will be interesting to see how the content will be classified in the audience's mind when consuming it as content marketing moves into a "must-have" part of any marketing strategy. Will they see it as a marketing ploy if the posts are too direct in mentioning a certain service and thus lose their value? I guess as always, it is up to the content creator to make it compelling and meaningful for the audience.
PS. Absolutely see a need for a "Director of Content" position going forward!
