Who benefits from a blogging website?
Everyone can benefit, but what I speak of here is how you can maximize the gains from a difficult enterprise. Yes, writing is challenging work because it engages the brain on multiple levels. But, this is also the reason why blogging can be so rewarding.
Who blogs?
You have an audience waiting for you to write something brilliant especially designed for them. People blog on everything from sex to residential construction, and they have followings.
What are the reasons for blogging?
Mind
- Reading and writing engage the human mental capacities in unique and taxing ways, so that in blogging you are actually exercising your mind, causing it to function better. You create new neural pathways that make your brain more efficient.
- Knowledge grows as you read, research, and write. You will know more, which if you apply effectively, will make you a more knowledgable and wise person.
- Results extend beyond merely reading and writing, and you will find yourself a better - thinker, reader, communicator, organizer, innovator, and creator.
- Blogging trains you in the subject area, in writing, and in communicating.
- You will become more mindful in seeking meaning in life so that you have material to write about.
- The social element of blogging powerfully connects you with people across the globe.
- Your communication skills improve as you work to share you messages in a way that impacts the reader.
- You create a network of followers and people you follow, establishing ties that benefit you in the world of business.
- Since blogging is the first social network, you are tapping into a web community that is well founded.
- As you produce your best work, you are creating a portfolio of your writing that can benefit you outside the Internet.
- You will enlighten and inspire others.
Who should not blog?
Consider your priorities and evaluate whether your life has room for this time consuming task. Place family and friends in the equation, and don't take on something that will hurt relationships.
If you are not truly committed to writing daily or weekly, you may as well not start. In order to acquire readers, you have to publish frequently which requires dedication. Blogging will occupy a considerable amount of time, and you should consider whether you have the time to spare.
As you consider this new part of your life, weigh the pros and cons and decide whether the lifestyle choice of creating a blogging website is for you.
