This seems to be another blog in a long list of how social media is the magic pill to sagging sales. The article does not seem to differentiate between B2C companies and B2B companies. There are no real industry specifics. What verticals were these CEO's classified in? What industries do they comprise? The devil is always in the details.
Is SM an important aspect in todays business marketplace? Absolutey. Do I really care what the CEO of Costco blogs, tweets or FBs about? No. Most consumers just want a quality product/service at a fair price and really could not care less about the CEO.
Once again, the digital marketers seem to be purporting a massive change in today's business environment to justify their their jobs. They are almost creating a solution to a problem that does not really exist.
