Jennifer is a meteorologist, storm chaser, space weather geek and social media specialist. She started with The Weather Channel in March of 2014, where she is a Social Meteorologist/Social Media Specialist. There she co-manages, TWC's social pages, posting forecasts, breaking weather information and more. Along with that she works on a variety of social media campaigns for the company. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Jennifer was an on camera meteorologist at WHNT-TV in Huntsville, AL where she also was a science reporter and helped to manage the station's social media accounts and weather blog.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Geography at East Carolina University, where she also received her atmospheric science and geographic information system (GIS) certificates. She then went on to Mississippi State University where she earned her masters degree in geosciences with a concentration on broadcast meteorology. While at MSU she taught GIS lab classes and was involved with research to develop a hurricane debris model at the Institute for Clean Energy Technology (ICET). She has assisted in cutting edge tornado research chasing storms with Hyperion Technology Group in Tupelo, Mississippi. For 14 hours she was on the air covering tornadoes on April 27th, 2011 for Mississippi and Alabama and won an Emmy winner for a 30 minute weather special on the tornado outbreak.
