One of the greatest thrills in my business life happened when Social Media Today first began work for IBM. I had covered IBM as a social company way back in 2006 as I was getting SMT off the ground, and had followed the careers of people like Sandy Carter, Jon Iwata, and others with great interest and admiration.
More recently, IBM has expanded its vision of the social business future to embrace data, cloud, mobile and customer experience. Particularly important, as you probably are aware, is the launch of the Verse product, an email and collaborative tool marketed directly to the consumer as well as to the enterprise. Verse will put immense productivity into the hands of business people by providing an email alternative, powered by Watson analytics and IBM's own collaboration software.
Once again, I'm taking real pride in Social Media Today's being named IBM's marketing and content partner for their #NewWayToWork Roadshow. We're planning to invite many of our Social Media Today friends and members to the events, which will start out in Chicago on June 23rd and continue into the fall in Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. I'm planning to attend as many of them as I can, so I'll look forward to seeing many of you there. The events will have strong programming and speakers discussing the new ways to work in marketing, and will be free to attend -- a great opportunity to meet your social and marketing peers.
We're excited to kick things off in Chicago on June 23rd where Michael Monroe, Vice President of Marketing at Forbes, will look at how companies are leveraging content marketing to get in front of current and prospective customers, and how the immediacy of feedback impacts marketing objectives, in ""Innovative Content Strategies for Brands."
