It's a toss up in the media for who won last night's Democratic debate, and on Twitter it was an equally close call, with only 1,100 tweets separating Bernie Sanders from Hillary Clinton (who pulled ahead.) So afire was Twitter with Sanders and Clinton that the combined conversation around the other candidates accounted for only 2/3 of the Clinton/Sanders volume.
Socialtyze and Crimson Hexagon joined forces to provide the data and infographic below on all the social chatter from last night's debate, and here are a few highlights:
-It seems like Twitter is sick of talking about Clinton's emails, too, with about 14,000 tweets dedicated to Sanders' quote that he "is sick of talking about your damn emails!"
-Something else Twitter is uninterested in? Edward Snowden. Government ethics was last in the list of conversation topics that ignited Twitter.
-Tweets about gun control nearly doubled any other topic, which makes sense in light of recent events.
-Martin O'Malley garnered the most negative sentiment per tweet, but his positive sentiment wasn't far behind Lincoln Chafee, who earned the most.
