For the week of May 2 - May 8, 2016, U.S. brands captured 65 million total actions (likes and retweets) from tweets published on Twitter. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Twitter for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below.
Bleacher Report (Media Publisher) topped the ranking with more than 905,000 Twitter actions, followed by the NBA (Sports) with more than 529,000 Twitter actions. Bleacher Report's top engaged tweets were led by hot topics across several sports, including the potential Mayweather/McGregor fight, LeBron James starring in Space Jam 2 and a viral Vine of a baseball player taking a fastball to the head. The NBA's most engaged tweets were part of its #ThisIsWhyWePlay campaign showcasing what motivates and drives players and fans to love the game.
Burberry (Fashion) claimed third place with nearly 104,000 actions and saw the highest growth among the Top Ten compared to the previous week, at 739%. Burberry's most engaged tweets were led by Blake Lively, who wore a Burberry gown at the #MetGala on May 2.
Starbucks (QSR) scored the highest actions per tweet among the Top Ten, driven by its promotions for #FrappuccinoHappyHour.
