From December 7 - December 13, 2015, U.S. brands and properties captured 564 million total actions (likes, shares, comments) from Facebook posts. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Facebook for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below.
The Golden State Warriors (Sports) topped the ranking with nearly 3.5 million Facebook actions, followed by BuzzFeed Food (Media Publisher) with more than 3.4 million actions.
The Warriors, who suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday, December 12, saw social success by celebrating their 24-game winning streak.
BuzzFeed Food scored the most Facebook shares of any brand in the ranking, with shares accounting for 43% of the media publisher's total Facebook actions. BuzzFeed Food's top Facebook posts with the most shares were recipes for various types of waffles and pizza mac & cheese.
Of the top performing brands, Universal Studios Hollywood (Travel) saw the highest growth in Facebook actions over the previous week at 1,753%, largely driven by a 2,144% spike in shares, most of which came from its posts announcing the grand opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter on April 7, 2016.
