NBA (Sports) topped the ranking with nearly 34 million Instagram actions, led by posts honoring Kobe Bryant who played his final game last week. National Geographic (Media Publisher) ranked number two with more than 24 million likes and comments on Instagram, topped by photos featuring stunning scenery in Scotland and San Francisco.
Victoria's Secret (Fashion) was number three in the ranking with top posts showing its Angels at Coachella and wearing the brand's summer line. Victoria's Secret also scored the second-highest actions per post behind National Geographic, averaging nearly 316,000 thousand likes and comments per Instagram post published during the week of April 11 - April 17, 2016.
Of the top performing brands, Porsche (Automotive) saw the highest growth in Instagram actions over the previous week with a 65% increase in likes and comments driven by a 75% increase in Instagram posts, topped by photos showcasing both new and old models to demonstrate its engineering abilities. Sen. Bernie Sanders (Politician) also made an appearance in the ranking, capturing 30% more Instagram likes and comments than the next best performing presidential candidate Donald Trump.
