Much appreciated Jennifer... I for one will take your thoughts to heart! Thanks!
As I was reading, I started to wonder... could cars be sold through Tw by following your suggestions; do you think a car dealership could sell cars and car services by following your process?
How about more CEOs start leading the revolution by creating social media engagement through transactional applications that generate "call-to-action" revenue opportunities directly within FB. Use your customer email marketing to put eyes "into" your FB apps for social sharing and first point of revenue engagement? FB pages are storefronts... companies can engage their existing customers as loyal followers and buyers; their activities will generate viral shares to friends and family, and so on and so on. This is 2nd generation social... real time customer retention and acquisition through lifecycle management - smCRM. Not later... now.
This is a great write-up; however the conversation is still about the 1st generation social conversation… Facebook now offers 2nd generation social connectivity and it is for progressive businesses that engage service offerings within the community through applications (FB tabs), which now allows them to experience greater awareness and viral exposure through their Facebook page ads and friends versus their i-net website. This is over the rainbow for most, but definitely the opportunity frontier for those that can take immediate advantage.
