Great post, Mark! I'll definitely add this book to my reading list.
I agree- It's almost becoming fun to watch tv and tweet. You would think it would be over-stimulation but its not really. It makes watching tv more of a social experience by allowing people to chat about what's happening or make predictions about whats to come. Some shows are even encouraging followers to tweet, I always see it on the Bravo network. I know game shows like wheel of fortune are allowing watchers to "play along" during the show. I have yet to try it, but I am intrigued. I wonder what this will bring for the future of tv, maybe ads on twitter based on what show you are watching. Who knows?!
