My friend Jessica Lipnack recently posted the results of a survey she did on to get advice from other bloggers in her post, Wisdom of Bloggers. I participated in the survey so I was interested in the results from the 35 people who responded. Getting that many responses in comment field was impressive. You can find all the comments at her post, Advice from other bloggers, including mine.
I especially liked the first responder, Paul Levy who said:
1. Has blogging improved your writing?
- In accordance with the "rules" of Web 2.0, readers should judge that by comparing earlier posts to later ones.
2. How long, on average, does a good post take?
- From the beginning to the end.
3. One unusual thing that's come from your blogging
- Everything in the world has taken on the look and feel of a potential blog entry.
4. Your advice to new bloggers - This is an excellent way to throw off all previous addictions in one swoop and replace them with one all-consuming one. Pursue at your own risk.
It is also a way to talk about all your addictions, at least those you want to talk about on the web. I got hooked with my first blog and now participate in six. Blogs make you the editor of your publication. On weekends, in this blog I write about whatever I want, not caring about being consistent or confusing the search engines. Then I can set the agenda on business discussions during the week. It is addictive.
