The folks at Six Apart have created what I believe is their first Facebook application, BlogIT.
Basically, the app allows you to post to all your blogs, including mini-blogs like Pownce and Twitter from one posting interface inside Facebook. Plus, you can update your status on Facebook, Pownce and Twitter from the same interface.
The application says "powered by Typepad," though I don't really know why, other than it's a marketing ploy to get people to try Typepad. There's also a hyperlink to that effect.
The cool thing, if there is one, is that BlogIT posts to several different types of blogs, including WordPress (both .org and .com), Blogger, Movable Type, LiveJournal, Vox (MT, LJ and Vox are 6A-owned properties) and, of course, Typepad.
The posting interface itself is basic. Just room for a title and the post body. Nothing about categories or tags. Plus, everything has to be written in HTML at this point as there's no WYSIWYG interface. So, if you don't know HTML (and you should learn at least a little bit), this is not going to be your cup 'o tea.
When posting, you can also tell BlogIT to update your Facebook mini-feed with the new post title and update Pownce and Twitter statuses (stati?) with the new post.
It's not a bad little app, though I find it largely useless due to the stark posting interface. I'm sure they'll catch flack for that and upgrade it in future iterations.
If you happen to give BlogIT a try, let me know what you think.
