The identical selling and business principles apply to nonprofits raising funds that apply to for-profit businesses creating revenue. - Nonprofits often have customers, too. Sometimes nonprofits sell their services (probably at below market rates) to their constituents. That's called SELLING! - Just because for-profit businesses have shareholders and nonprofits don't doesn't mean nonprofits are not selling organizations.
If you "sell" in a non-profit environment, consider participating in sales training! Sales training can improve your ability to deliver your services to more people, raise more money, write better grant proposals, reach out to your constituents, sign-up more sponsors, create a broader reach, solidify partnerships, get more active volunteers, get bigger contributions, engage others more fully, have more successful door-to-door canvasing campaigns, etc. Sales training is for charitable and nonprofit organizations, too!
