When you think of Atlanta, what springs to mind? The Braves? Peach trees?
How about the premier social media conference for digital, marketing, PR, and communications professionals? That's what you'll find this May 22 -24 at the W Hotel: The Social Shake-Up Show.
I'm thrilled to be attending and presenting at the show again this year, and I'm particularly excited about these 4 not-to-be-missed experiences:
1. A compendium of killer workshops
There is a hands-on session dedicated to SEO optimization. My colleague Banafsheh Ghassemi will show us the ins and outs of customer journey mapping. You'll also learn ways to spotlight potential returns and benefits for your social endeavors, and how to best secure executive support and demonstrate operational opportunities.
On a personal note, I'm looking forward to taking attendees through a proven six-step process for building the business case for online communities that drive competitive advantage.
2. Lots of laughs, followed by some serious business
Shaun McBride, a professional "fun-haver" will kick off the conference with his humorous take on how top brands are succeeding at social. Then, we'll dive deep into case studies, panels, and minute-clinics on all things social - including employee advocacy, content marketing and, of course, online community strategy and business impact.
Keith Hernandez from the Bleacher Report and Doug Busk from Coca-Cola will deliver keynotes on the hot topics that are shaping the industry.
3. The chance to embrace mindfulness
Wednesday morning begins with an event that I can't wait to attend - the Wake-Up Shake-Up, an interactive session with Leader Networks' own Jessica Fish. Jessica will guide us through the basics of mindfulness and how to apply them to our technology-filled lives to reduce stress and prevent burnout.
Who doesn't need that?
4. A tribute to Robin Carey, Social Media Today's founder and CEO
Robin launched the Social Shake-Up conference in 2013, and it has grown tremendously in size and influence over these past years. As you may know, Access Intelligence acquired the Social Shake-Up brand after Robin's tragic and untimely death. This is the first year they are running the show.
As Robin's dear friend and business partner, I have to confess I didn't want to love this new event - but I do. They've done a brilliant job of honoring the brand, keeping all of its magic, and deepening the experience for attendees.
Be sure to check out all the details for the Social Shake-Up and, of course, register if you haven't already. I look forward to seeing you in Atlanta.
