While many still associate social media marketing with B2C, it's also become a hugely important platform for B2B brands. And the most important social platform for B2B, according to research, is LinkedIn
As per LinkedIn:
"More than 430 million professionals gather on LinkedIn making it the most effective place for B2B marketers to engage with decision makers, influencers and leaders of today and tomorrow. In fact, 93 percent of B2B marketers say social media is their number one tactic for content creation and distribution."
To underline the network's value for B2B brands, LinkedIn has released a new infographic which breaks down some of the key reasons why B2B brands should consider utilizing the professional social network within their marketing outreach efforts.
Those reasons include:
- 80% of leads sourced through social media for B2B marketers come from LinkedIn
- 79% of B2B marketers view LinkedIn as an effective source for generating leads
- LinkedIn Sponsored Content has 6x the ROI of similar Google Adwords campaigns
Of course, most of those involved in social media in some capacity already know that LinkedIn has huge potential for B2B outreach - and given their recent acquisition by Microsoft, that capacity may soon be on the increase.
