Ari- Always liked the Despair T-shirt graphic, too funny.
Chicken vs. egg, maybe? For people who are already narcisstic, Twitter and other SM tools are enablers. Just other ways to say, "hey look at me" so they boast about follower counts and such.
For the rest of us, it's nice to build connections. That community of people who comment on our blogs, RT us, give us positive reinforcement and added confidence. For me it's not narcissism but professional development. FWIW.
Feb 24 Posted 7 years ago Twitter is an incredibly powerful professional tool, where what on a personal level would be called narcissism becomes just the shrewd tooting of your own horn. If it works for you from that professional standpoint, go at it. What makes something a pathology is when you do it even though it's detrimental. So when you're twittering about the project plan that you should instead be working on, then, perhaps, you have a problem.
