Lots of great advice Nathan, thanks! Another way to build up a personal brand that I've always found works well is to have an about.me page, or a blog.
Both have different purposes, About.Me is something you only need to work on very briefly but it's so great to have a link to a professional page about yourself where you can sum up whatever you'd like, it gives a little more flexibility than LinkedIn although LinkedIn is amazing too.
As for the blog, that requires a little more dedication but it's an absolutely wonderful way to share any expertise you may have. I know a few people who don't care to manage their own blog but instead they guest post very frequently, there are lots of ways to get your name out there, it's just important to figure out which way works best for you.
Thanks again for the great post!
