I personally think that it's in most businesses' best interest to engage in someway with social media platforms. It really all depends on who their primary target audiences are when it comes to choosing a specific social media platform as well.
Small, and big, businesses have seen a lot of success with getting even more mileage out of their social strategies by using Postano, a social media aggregator. By bringing social media back to the business' website, you're engaging audiences that aren't reachable via social media; and they're still engaging with your content.
