Social media Influence like "Klout," have assisted me in getting a better direction, when sharing media. Although at the end of the day, it is about getting the people to stop and read. Building your network takes the biggest effort.

Lace, great to hear you are gaining Klout! It is such a new phenomenon - this measure of online influence. I don't think any system is perfect yet, but they are purposeful for some things. I COMPLETELY agree, that is why I included my DISCLAIMER: I don't think you should work to get a better score, but to have better influence. Your score should increase organically the more you immerse in Social Media. :)
Shannon, well don't worry about it, you are probably still cool! I really don't have a great PeerIndex score myself. I think these measurement tools are emerging, changing, and its like a fun game. Keep up the good work. :)
Larry, thanks for the heads up about that tool - appinions - I like it! I am going to use and measure with this now. Appreciate the insight!
Cheers all! :)

Hi Taryn, Klout is really interesting, especially how they come up with graphs that position you among your social media peers. We just reached K47 which feels fantastic but increasing these scores are definitely not the focus. They'll naturally come as a result of genuine interaction and engagement.

I'm not in the cool club :( How embarrassing! Haha. My Klout is only at 28.3% - for shame! I am working on it though! I actually wrote about Klout the other day, but not as extensively as this. It's a cool site and I think it could be very beneficial to businesses but just fun for other users too!

Just wanted to give you the head's up about another tool to identify influencers: the Appinions' Influencer Exchange, which looks at social media, traditional media and radio/TV transcripts. The Influencer Exchange is topic-based, which means the focus is on the people influencing that topic both in terms of content creaters and the people they are citing. You can check out the Influencer Exchange here: http://beta.ix.appinions.com/influencerweb/main
