Adding onto what Paul explained, creating a consistent message across the various social media platforms is so important for a brand. However, that does not mean pushing the same content through every portal. Each social media tool should be used how it is meant to be used - content that a company displays on Facebook should be different from what they "pin" on Pinterest and also different from what they post on YouTube, etc. Consumers look for different content on each platform, so if the same information is displayed everywhere, it makes the brand seem less genuine and engaged. As long as there is consistency in the overall message across all of the social media platforms, the brand should see more recognition and engagement.
