Well, what a difference a few days make: Sepp Blatter's Friday re-election assertion, "I am the president of everybody" lasted all of four days before he stepped down among pressure from sponsors and allegations that he's implicated.
This is good news for FIFA's sponsors, who have been called on by consumers across the globe to exercise their almighty dollars to rid the organization of widespread corruption. One can only assume that sponsor pressure played a part in the resignation... or, at least, that's the overall sentiment on social media (hey, there's finally an upside of being in the crosshairs of this scandal):
This has been a reputation crisis unprecedented in its scale and global reach, and consumers wanted action. With Blatter's resignation, it's likely that FIFA's sponsors will be able to reign it back from defcon 1 in fairly short order.
