For the week of March 21, 2016 - March 27, 2016, U.S. brands captured 1.4 billion likes, shares, comments and retweets on content published on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Powered by Shareablee data, the top U.S. brands across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below. National Geographic (Media Publisher) was the top overall brand in the ranking with nearly 22.7 million total actions, driven by animals in action, as well as stunning scenery. In second place was NBA (Sports) with 20.2 million social actions, topped by a video of Steph Curry celebrating his team's win. Video accounted for 19% of NBA's social posts and drove 44% of the sports league's overall social actions.
Of the top ten, Citi (Financial Services) saw the highest growth in social engagement over the previous week at 327% due to its Facebook post showcasing its environment-friendly office in Chennai, India. President Barack Obama (Politician) closely followed Citi with a 321% growth rate over the previous week, and also scored the highest actions per post, driven by his Facebook photo post of his family wishing fans a "blessed and joyful" Easter.
