Content curation is usually thought of exclusively as a tool for marketers and publishers but there are lots of other applications outside these industries. One of those examples is higher education. You're teachers probably didn't call it curation at the time but whenever they created reading lists or offered a collection of videos to watch, they were curating. Using their expertise to identify and organize the best resources on a topic and then share those with students is what curation is all about.
