The Macy's at Biltmore Fashion Park is huge. The selection is immense. So much so, that it can be overwhelming at times. But they have an answer for that.
This past weekend I shopped by appointment. Marilyn was my guide. She walked me around the men's department, showing me what was there and getting a sense of my style and what I needed to purchase. The entire time, she was grabbing garments for me to try.
Once we had a good selection, she took me to a special fitting room. I'd put something on, we talked about what was good and what wasn't, and she would go off to find additional pieces.
I didn't buy everything I liked, but I definitely added to my wardrobe. After ringing everything up, she told me about all of the additional benefits I would receive if I continued to use the service. She has my sizes, a good idea of my style and, now, a fan.
Best of all, the service is free!
That is customer engagement. And a great way to build loyalty and a sales stream.
Look at your own business. What are some services you can provide at a low cost to the customer that will build loyalty and give you direct access to him?
