Culture of Content Creation
The Culture of Content Creation is a video series about people who make their own digital content to share with the world - such as blogs, podcasts, wiki entries, online product reviews or videos - to learn why they do it, what they find rewarding, and how they view their role in the world. Started in early 2008, this cultural media project from Elastic Lab continues today, reflecting changes in technology, knowledge and the social fabric of the Internet.
"Huge amount of freedom involved" takes a look at NYU film student Alex Dorman and how he utilizes Facebook Notes for not only the sharing of his ideas but also as a place to practice his craft. Facebook allows you to post just about anything and Alex realizes the inherent value of that. He sees it as a place to post as an amateur or a rookie and put your content out to an audience that already trusts you. The leeway to be free in your posting allows the content creator not to be restricted by preconceived notions or fear. The final result might not be publishable anywhere else, but there is a place for it on Facebook. So sit back and enjoy the off the cuff ramblings in, "Huge amount of freedom involved."
