Culture of Content Creation
The Culture of Content Creation is a video series about people who make their own digital content to share with the world - such as blogs, podcasts, wiki entries, online product reviews or videos - to learn why they do it, what they find rewarding, and how they view their role in the world. Started in early 2008, this cultural media project from Elastic Lab continues today, reflecting changes in technology, knowledge and the social fabric of the Internet.
"Let's just try our own" features Frank Andrade who is a comedy podcaster. He had a solid rapport with a few of his friends and decided to take that camaraderie and put it out online in the form of a podcast. He gives us an "every-man" insight into taking on this new form of social media. Frank reminds us that this technology was not available to him as a youth so immersing himself into this novel realm is both enlightening and fun. He took the opportunity to do it right and has had some solid success with his endeavor. The more people that tuned into his podcast the more he was inspired to continue. Podcasts and other forms of social media have become practically ubiquitous and Frank is continually impressed with the way that information is distributed online. So pop on your headphones and enjoy, "Let's just try our own."
