One of the many things we've learned over the past year and a half as we've tried to build the Social Media Today concept into a viable business is that our success ultimately depends upon providing reciprocal value to the bloggers who share their content here. The main way we do that is by providing a bigger audience than most bloggers get on their own but we now find that we are more and more engaging bloggers in all our communities in community marketing activities like webinars, ebooks, white papers and plain old-fashioned promotion. Amazingly enough, we sometimes even pay.
Blogger relations has become such an important part of our business that we've just added a new Community Marketing Manager to devote much of her time to working with our bloggers. Caitlin Hinrichs is a recent graduate of Bucknell University, where she majored in business management with a focus on marketing. While at Bucknell, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and participated in numerous charity events. She has varied work experience including an internship in event promotions and working as a promotional model for Snapple. She grew up on Long Island and still resides in Bay Shore, New York. An avid sports fan, Caitlin is devoted to NASCAR and the New York Yankees. A former All County golfer, she enjoys keeping up with her game and playing tennis.
One of the tasks that Caitlin will be doing is trying to find out who among the bloggers in our various communities has the largest or best-targeted network for the needs of a particular project. You can put yourself in the running immediately by sending her some data on such things as the number of viewers of your blog, whether you have a newsletter or not and how many people it reaches, whether you accept advertising, and how big, or influential, your Twitter list is. You can reach Caitlin at our office number, (973) 763-2829 or [email protected]
