One of the reseller partners for the company I serve as marketing director, Bizzuka, sent us a note about a new college sports fan community she helped develop, CollegeFanz.com. I told the co-worker who forwarded me her message that I'd help spread the word.
Here's her description...
It is a community site dedicated to fans and the brainchild of Bill Rasmussen, the founder of ESPN. His vision is to include all sports in all divisions and give the sportscaster in each of you a place to set up shop.
It was a great experience working with Bill. He is hands down one of my favorite people and I wish him the best with this new venture.
You can upload pictures of your favorite team or your friends from school.
You can add your favorite video of your mascot taking out the other team's mascot, discuss a game, bad call that cost your team the game or start your own blog. Up to you how you use it.
The schedule was very tight and many new features will be coming soon. This beta being the first of many releases, we have started with football and basketball. You can however start a discussion about any sport at any school in Divisions I, II, and III. All that is missing is the schedules, scores and standings (not all schools have a schedule, or rss feed from the school set up, but we are working on it. If you know your school has an RSS news feed that you do not see listed, please let me know.
Please try it out, and let me know what you think! If you like it, tell your friends.
