I'm actually taking the day off for my birthday today, but if you want to hear some interesting news (no matter which way you vote), text VP to 62262. Obama's announcing his VP pick via SMS and e-mail only.
This campaign gets social media. I suppose there are merits to announcing a big news event like this in a non-shareable distributed format (i.e. television), but SMS just makes so much more sense, since my first reaction to seeing an announcement of this magnitude would be to text a few close friends anyway. We'll see how well this goes tomorrow.
One thing to keep in mind: Music For America's (now defunct) SMS voter registration efforts (during the 2004 election) were among the highest ever for the Democratic party.
