Due to the upcoming release of Intalio|BPMS 5.0, the closing of a new round of funding, the struggle to schedule an IFR checkride, and the responsibilities that usually come with parenthood, the last couple of months have been some of the most intense I have been through in a long time, which resulted in my temporary absence from this channel. Things are calming down a bit, and regular blogging should resume very soon. In the meantime, we set the dates for the second edition of the Office 2.0 Conference, booked a venue, and released the registration website.
The conference will again take place at the St. Regis Hotel, but this time around we booked the whole place, so that we can run more tracks in parallel and host more exhibitors. We will kick this thing off on the evening of September the 5th with a party to be held on the hotel's terrace, followed by two days of meeting (September 6 & 7). For this second edition, we have hired a larger staff, and did everything we could to provide better Wi-Fi connections. Nevertheless, the original spirit of the event should be preserved, which is a nice way of saying that some things are expected to go wrong here and there. The Office 2.0 Conference is very much a live experiment, and one usually learns more from an experiment when it fails to produce the results one was deemed to expect.
The complete website for the conference is still being developed and should be released very soon. This time around, we got help from the good folks at Jive Software, and opted for Clearspace for building a community website. The registration website itself is powered by Event Wax. Last but not least, the theme for this second edition will be mobility, and I am pleased to confirm that each participant will receive a Wi-Fi capable mobile device in lieu of attendee kit. Looking forward to meeting you there...
